I read many reviews on multiple sites before making this purchase. I was worried the shape would be awkward however it is quite comfortable. I also wondered if the shape would make sharpening tricky however that isn't a problem either. No breakage so far with sharpening or while using these pencils. I was concerned about not having identifying names on each pencil however that has not posed any difficulty. When in use, I keep my pencils in containers with the tips up so the color is obvious. I often play with shading on a separate piece of scrape paper so that makes a difference I suppose but I have always done that. The colors are beautiful and blend well. The cost is ideal so an added bonus. The pencils came on time and intact. All in all, after trying many brands of pencils, these are by far my favorite.

Love Stadtler but removed one star due to breakage when sharpening. If these pencils were lined with the white stuff as in their 36 pk. I'm sure they would have been much better. I actually would rather pay more to have them lined because I have never had a broken point due to sharpening those in the 36 pk. Still...I love the colors and use them frequently along with my pricey pencils.
